Leen Spruit
30.06.1954 born in Krimpen aan den IJssel (Netherlands), as son of Koos Spruit and Marie Werksma.
12.10.1979 master in theology, cum laude (history of christianity)
27.11.1981 master in philosophy, cum laude (history of philosophy)
1985-88 research fellow Dutch Council of Research at the University of Amsterdam
since 1986 lecturer Dutch language and literature at “La Sapienza” University Rome.
25.09.1987 PhD philosophy at the University of Amsterdam, cum laude.
30.09.1988 receives premium of “Prins Bernhard Fonds” for his dissertation
on the epistemological thought of Giordano Bruno, assigned by the Dutch Academy of Sciences (Haarlem).
1989-92 research fellow Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences at Utrecht University.
1991-92 visiting professor University of Trieste.
since 1996 member of research group “Catholic Church and Modern Science.”
since 2010 associate researcher at Radboud University Nijmegen (The Netherlands)
20.09.2012 receives the Radboud Science Award
2014-15 KNAW visiting professor at the Radboud University Nijmegen
